The Michigan Reality
Your Glass Is The Largest Unprotected Surface On The Car.
Every other panel has paint, primer and clear coat between you and the sun. The glass has nothing. That is where the heat comes in, where the glare comes from, and where an interior starts to age.
- Leather cracks and dashboards fade from light, not from age.
- A closed car in summer sun gets hotter inside than the air outside, and the glass is why.
- UV passes straight through untreated side glass on every drive, in any weather.
- Dyed film has to be removed before new film goes on, and the removal is the expensive part.
Six Things Your Glass Lets Through
Cabin Heat
Glass turns your cabin into a greenhouse. Ceramic film rejects over 90% of total solar heat before it gets in.
Glare
Low winter sun and oncoming headlights are the two worst driving conditions in Michigan. Film cuts both.
UV Exposure
Ceramic film blocks 99% of UV, on the arm and shoulder that sit in the sun on every drive.
Interior Fading
Leather cracks and dashboards fade from the same light. Film is what stands between them and it.
Privacy
What is on your seats stops being a shop window at every red light and every parking lot.
Purple Film
Dyed film fades to purple and bubbles within a few Michigan summers. Ceramic film does neither.
All six come down to the same thing: what the glass is made to do, and what we add to it so it stops working against you.
The Short Version
What ceramic window tint actually does
There are two kinds of film on the market and they are not close. We install one of them, on every vehicle, at every level.
- HeatRejects over 90% of total solar heat, which is the harder measure than the infrared numbers most shops quote.
- UVBlocks 99%, which protects your skin and your interior at the same time.
- SignalNo metal in the film, so it never interferes with your phone, keyless entry, radio or GPS.
- ColourHolds its colour instead of fading toward purple, which is what dyed film does.
- FitComputer cut to your exact year, make and model, so no blade ever touches your glass.
Coverage Options
Window tint packages
Three levels, one standard of install. Every level is the same multi layer ceramic film, fitted by the same specialists. The only thing that changes is how much glass we cover.
Arise
The two front windows
Film on the two windows either side of you, where you spend the drive. Michigan restricts how far film can go on front glass, so we confirm exactly what your vehicle can run before we book it.
Trucks and SUVs that already came with privacy glass in the back, and anyone who only wants the fronts done.
Add the windshield and it becomes Arise+.
Same ceramic film as every other level.
Quote AriseElevate
Every window except the windshield
Full cabin coverage, every seat cooler, and the finished look from every angle. Coupes and sedans start here, because there is no factory glass to match.
Coupes, sedans and any vehicle without factory privacy glass. The level most drivers choose.
Add a sunroof or a windshield strip and it becomes Elevate+.
Same ceramic film as every other level.
Quote ElevateAscend
Every window plus the windshield
The windshield is the largest piece of glass on the vehicle, and the one your air conditioning fights hardest.
Drivers who want the cabin as cool as it can get, and anyone who commutes into the sun.
Add a sunroof and it becomes Ascend+.
Same ceramic film as every other level.
Quote AscendEvery level can be extended. Adding a sunroof or a windshield to your package makes it a plus, and it is priced with your quote. We also tint the windshield on its own. Not sure which level fits your vehicle? Send the year, make and model and we will tell you.
Choosing A Look
Pick your shade
The number is how much light comes through, so a lower number is darker. Every shade below is the same ceramic film with the same heat and UV performance. Darker is a look, not more protection.
Limo
The darkest we install. Almost nothing visible from outside.
Very Dark
Strong privacy. The common pick for rear glass.
Dark
Dark from outside, still easy to see out at night.
Medium
The balanced choice. Finished look, easy visibility.
Light
Subtle. You get the heat and UV without the darkness.
Nearly Clear
Barely visible. Chosen for heat and UV alone.
Where each shade can go. Michigan restricts film on the windshield and both front side windows to a strip along the top edge. Behind the driver there is no darkness limit at all. We confirm exactly what your vehicle can run before anything is installed. MCL 257.709. General information, not legal advice.

Inside The Studio
How we install window tint
Most vehicles are done the same day, and the majority are back with you inside a couple of hours. You get a firm time before you commit.
Glass preparation
Every window is stripped, cleaned and decontaminated inside and out. Film shows every speck underneath it, so this stage decides the result.
Computer cut patterns
Film is plotted to your exact year, make and model from a digital pattern. No blade ever touches your glass or your seals.
Installation
Each panel is heat shaped to the curve of the glass and fitted in a clean, enclosed bay so nothing lands between the film and the window.
Quality control and handover
Our team checks every window under inspection lighting before the vehicle goes back to you, along with your care guide for the curing period.
The Work
Real vehicles. Real installs. Zero compromise.
Every car below left our bay with computer cut ceramic film, fitted by one specialist: clean glass lines, no gaps at the edges, nothing to see but the finish.

What Oakland County owners say
“I had my durango tinted. The truck was transformed! The team at Ascension does amazing work. I recently return to have the sunroof done and I wish I had it done sooner. The quality of the ceramic tint used made a very noticeable difference in the heat transfer. I personally have referred Ascension to many people and recommend them highly. Don't hesitate, just hand your keys over and prepair to be amazed!”
kente n“These guys were great and did a phenomenal job! They were very communicative. I would definitely recommend the ceramic tint. It really helps with the heat and reduces the glare on the front windshield at night.”
Barak Shapiro“I had my 2025 Chevy trax tinted at Ascension Automotive and I couldn’t be happier! The tint looks amazing and completely changed the look of my car. David was extremely nice, helpful, and made the whole process easy. The quality of work and customer service here are outstanding. I highly recommend Ascension Automotive:)”
Addison PaytonWhy We Only Install One Kind
Ceramic window tint compared to dyed film
Most shops carry both and quote you the lower number. We carry one, because the other one comes back.
| What you care about | Ceramic film | Dyed film |
|---|---|---|
| Heat rejection | Over 90% of total solar heat | Mostly darkness, very little heat |
| UV protection | 99% blocked | Varies, and drops as the dye fades |
| Colour over time | Holds its colour | Fades toward purple |
| Bubbling | Does not bubble | Common after a few summers |
| Signal interference | None, there is no metal in it | None in dyed, but metallic films do interfere |
| What it costs you later | Dyed film is removed and redone. Removal is the expensive part, not the film. | |

Window tint FAQ
Where can I get my windows tinted near me in Oakland County?
Our tint shop is at 54530 Pontiac Trail in Milford, and we tint for owners right across Oakland County. Most clients come from Novi, Northville, Brighton, Wixom, South Lyon, Commerce Township and West Bloomfield. Most vehicles are booked in and finished the same day.
How long does window tint take?
The large majority of vehicles are done the same day, and most are back with you within a couple of hours. Larger vehicles, windshields and any job that needs old film removed first take longer. You get a firm time before you book rather than a guess.
How much does ceramic window tint cost?
Every vehicle is quoted individually, because investment depends on how many windows you are covering, the size and curve of the glass, and whether there is existing film to remove. A coupe and a three row SUV are very different jobs. Send us your year, make and model and we will give you a real number.
Is ceramic window tint worth it over standard film?
If you care about heat, yes, and it is not close. Dyed film mostly just makes the glass dark. Ceramic film rejects over 90% of total solar heat and blocks 99% of UV, and it holds its colour instead of fading to purple. It is also the only film we install, at every level, so you are not choosing between a good option and a lesser one here.
Will window tint interfere with my phone or keyless entry?
No. Our film contains no metal, so it does not interfere with cellular signal, GPS, radio, keyless entry or tyre pressure sensors. That interference comes from metallic and sputtered films, which we do not install.
How dark can I legally go in Michigan?
Michigan law is about placement rather than darkness. There is no legal darkness percentage on any window in this state. What the law does restrict is the windshield and the two front side windows, where film is permitted only along the top few inches. Everything from the rear doors back can go as dark as you like. We will walk you through exactly where your vehicle stands before anything is installed.
How soon can I roll my windows down?
Leave them up for the first few days while the film cures. You may see slight haze or small water pockets during that period and both clear on their own as the remaining moisture evaporates. Your care guide covers the exact timing for your vehicle and the weather it is curing in.
